Group Director of Governance & Business Solutions

Report to: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Agile home-based worker primarily based from home with some regular travel when required to Wheatley offices.

Wheatley Group is looking for a Group Director of Governance and Business Solutions to join the new-look Executive Team, working alongside a new Group Chief Executive and Chair, as the Group delivers on its five-year strategy through to 2026. Reporting to the Group Chief Executive, you will lead our Group Governance, IT, Strategy and Policy, and Procurement and Performance teams.

The role:

  • contribute to the strategic management of the organisation, with a clear focus on the future as well as the here and now;
  • report directly to the CEO and Group Boards, with a key focus on delivering significant performance results set out in Wheatley Group’s business plan;
  • take a lead role in ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives are at the heart of everything we do; and
  • take overall responsibility in driving Wheatley Group’s strategic digital objectives and embed digital innovation and adoption across Group.

The person:

  • must have proven success in a strong leadership role with a track record of successfully leading and developing a complex public/private sector organisation within a regulated environment;
  • must have experience of developing and implementing strategy;
  • must have experience of performing in a company secretary role within a similar scale organisation; and
  • must have a strong understanding of the social housing sector and its regulatory and political landscape.
