Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives? Come and join Wheatley Care as a Health and Wellbeing Assistant!
We are a values‑led social care organisation focused on delivering support that genuinely improves people’s lives. As a not‑for‑profit provider, with over 40 years’ experience in the social care arena we reinvest our resources where they matter most: the people and communities we serve. Our work is grounded in dignity, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to live well.
We are recognised for delivering reliable, person‑led support across our communities. Our teams are trusted to provide safe, compassionate care that stands up to scrutiny. We take pride in being a steady, dependable partner within the health and social care landscape across Scotland.
We are entering a significant phase of development as we progress on the transition to becoming an independent organisation and strengthening our care service teams to match our ambition. Our focus is on long‑term sustainability, strong governance and services that remain fit for the future. We combine the ethos of the third sector with the discipline of a modern, well‑run organisation.
Our culture is grounded in respect, accountability, and a shared commitment to doing the right thing. We support our staff to grow, contribute, and lead with confidence. We value professionalism, kindness, and the ability to work with purpose.
About the role
The Stirling and Grangemouth SDS service supports adults to live independently in their own homes, with a wide range of support needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and autism. Support is tailored to each individual, promoting choice, independence, and community connection in line with Self-Directed Support principles.
You will provide support with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and household routines, as well as helping individuals access their local community, attend appointments, and maintain meaningful relationships. You will also encourage participation in activities that reflect people’s interests and aspirations, supporting them to lead full, independent, and fulfilling lives.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting others in a way that respects their choices and promotes their independence. You will be confident working in a personalised support environment, able to build positive relationships, and respond flexibly to changing needs.
Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. An understanding of Self-Directed Support and a commitment to working in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and non-discriminatory way is important. Above all, you will share our values and be motivated to support people to live safe, independent, and fulfilling lives.
