The passion and professionalism our staff bring to supporting the people we work for is second to none.

Check out the short video about Ami and Darren from the Health and Wellbeing team to see what it’s like to be part of our care services.

We offer excellent staff conditions and benefits, including paying our staff the Living Wage.

We also offer industry-leading training and career development opportunities.

We're an equal opportunities employer and are committed to delivering the highest standards and quality of service.

We recognise that our people are key in delivering these standards, which is why we have a committed, highly-skilled and motivated workforce.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, we have robust recruitment and selection processes which, where appropriate, involves obtaining PVG Scheme (Adults) membership or a Basic or Standard Disclosure.

We also adhere to the Disclosure Scotland Code of Practice. For further information please visit Disclosure Scotland.

    Health and safety

It's important we take all reasonable steps to protect the health and well-being of ourselves, our colleagues, our service users and anyone affected by our activities.

We have a comprehensive Health and Safety Manual as a guide to the management and implementation of health and safety systems.

    For more information, call 0800 952 9292.

    Healthy Working Lives

Positive, mentally and physically healthy staff are key to the long-term success of Wheatley Care.

That's why we are committed to improving the quality of the environment for all our staff.

We hold the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Mental Health Commendation Awards from Scotland's Healthy Working Lives Awards.

Our care services have been involved with the Healthy Working Lives Award Scheme for many years and have established two specific groups to lead and promote the strategy within the organisation:

    • Health and Safety Staff Committee
    • Healthy Working Lives Steering Group.

These groups, alongside dedicated Human Resources Staff and Line Managers, are committed to identifying and providing solutions to the organisation's needs in relation to Safety, Health and Wellbeing.

The remit and responsibilities of both groups, and all employees are outlined within the current Health and Safety Manual.
