An exciting opportunity has arisen for additional talented leaders to join our team in our Lanarkshire Service as we embark on the next stage of our journey to delivering truly outstanding, highly personalised, care and support services.
We work with people who experience a range of diagnoses including mental health, and/or learning disabilities, history of addiction and offending behaviour.
The Team Leader who successfully takes up this post will be very much involved in supporting the other managers, leaders and team in the ongoing work of the services as they develop and the grow. All the services will continue to offer Individualised support. Outcome Star is utilised as a tool to support and measure positive change and improved health and wellbeing. Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have solid experience of working with people in the care and support sector and, just as importantly, they’ll be able to demonstrate an innovative and empathetic approach to delivering services. They will understand person-centred care and be just as passionate about it as we are.
Experience of leadership is important as you will play a lead role in supporting the manager of the service to support and develop the staff team. As part of the leadership team, you will be fully involved in the delivery of excellent, personalised services.
You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of monitoring and evaluating a quality framework ensuring excellent service provision, staff support and supervision.
What will the role involve day-to-day?
As the Team Leader of a Wheatley Care service, you will work closely with the Registered Manager of the service to share responsibility for the day-to-day running of all elements of service provision. This will include:
- leading and supporting staff;
- ensuring the work of all staff is co-ordinated effectively;
- participating directly in the care of the people we work for;
- implementing policies and procedures; and
- maintaining regulatory standards.
You will need to have some flexibility to work various shift patterns, and you will be asked to participate in the organisation’s on-call service, for which an appropriate allowance is paid.
What about qualifications and development?
At Wheatley Care we support staff to develop their career and reach their potential through a range of learning and development opportunities.
You should have or be willing to work towards a SSSC recognised qualification for this role, such as SVQ3 Health and Social Care and a relevant supervisory management qualification. Wheatley Care will support you to achieve any relevant qualifications you will require in your post within an agreed timescale. Your commitment to gaining the necessary qualifications would be essential.
You will require to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and register with the Scottish Social Care Council (SSSC), but we can also support you with these applications
